Frequently Asked Questions

Here's the answer to many common questions you may have.

What Is Microblading?

Microblading is a form of eyebrow tattoo which enhances the look of your natural brows by drawing additional hairs on the skin. The hair-like strokes are created with a multi-needle microblading tool that makes ultra-thin incisions on the surface of the skin, which are then filled with pigments of natural origin. The results are enhanced eyebrows that look very natural, and can’t be removed like regular makeup is. This makes microblading a waterproof, sweat-resistant way to improve the look of your brows, and your appearance overall.

How long does Microblading last?

The average longevity of microblading results is 12 to 18 months without touch ups. In general, it requires touch-ups once or twice a year. Once pigment from the procedure begins to noticeably fade, you'll need to go back to your practitioner for a touch-up application. Touch-ups are recommended to maintain shape, color, and detail. How often depends on a number of factors including:

- Skin type (oily skin fade faster)

- Pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster)

- Sun exposure (over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment)

- Use of daily anti-aging products e.g.- (Tretinoin (Retin-A) & Alpha Hydroxy). These products increase your cell turnover rate and will shorten the life of your cosmetic tattoo

Does Microblading hurt?

Although the procedure can take upward of 2 hours, most people report only feeling minor pressure or discomfort and less pain than a typical tattoo due to the use of a numbing cream. Of course, this will depend on your own personal tolerance to pain. Some level of pain or discomfort should be expected. (PLEASE NOTE that if you are a frequent smoker, or have your appointment during your menstrual cycle, the pain level could be intensified.)

Is Microblading Removal Possible?

Microblading fading can be accelerated in many ways, from DIY PMU removal methods to professional treatments like saline removal. If you don’t have patience or energy for gradual fading, there are also microblading removal options like laser, but bear in mind that these take several sessions, so it could cost you time and money. We currently do NOT offer any removal services.

How long is a PMU Appointment?

Two hours on average. During your appointment we will consult with you the entire time ensuring we are on the same page. Much of the time is spent measuring and drawing on a symmetrical set of brows and agreeing on your perfect shape and color. The actual procedure itself takes 30min to an hour. The touch-up appointment will take about an hour.

Are follow-up appointments included?

In order to ensure that the brows heal perfectly a minimum of two treatments are usually needed 6-8 weeks apart on average. This touch-up is  NOT included. Please make sure to book your touch-up appointment.

Can I get PMU if I am pregnant?

As a precaution to avoid any complications, we do not perform cosmetic tattooing on pregnant women.

Can I exercise after getting PMU?

You must avoid working out for 7 days following your microblading appointment. Light exercising is allowed (minimal sweating), but you must clean the tattooed area with lukewarm water as soon as you are done exercising. The salt in sweat will fade the pigment very quickly and give poor results.

What is Henna Brows?

Henna brows are a type of tinting that stains the skin giving you tinted hairs for up to 6 weeks and a tint on the skin that can last anywhere from 4-10 days. It's a fantastic way to try out a shape before committing to semi-permanent makeup, or if you just want your eyebrows shaped and filled temporarily.
